CFL Light Bulbs

Posted 1 year ago

Did you know that according to EnergyStar, if every home in America replaced just one traditional, incandescent light bulb with a Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb (CFL), it would prevent the release of carbon emissions equivalent to that of about 800,000 cars and would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes.

Typical CFL lightbulbs last more than 8 times longer than traditional lightbulbs and use less than 25% of the energy. Over the lifetime of a CFL lightbulb, you will save over $40 in light bulb and energy costs. Imagine what would happen if you switched out all of your incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs?

Incandescent CFL Light Bulb
Lifetime Hours 1,000 8,000
Watts 60W 13W
Cost of Bulb(s) $4.80 $3.50
Energy Costs $52.13 $11.29
Total Costs $56.93 $14.79
