According to photovoltaic analyst and PHOTON Consulting CEO Michael Rogol, solar energy has re-emerged as a force in America after lying dormant for so long.
"Solar power has reached a scale in the U.S. at which it is capturing national attention as an important generator of electricity and of jobs," said Rogol, before adding that the nation had seen its role on the solar power market diminish steadily since the 1980s until recently.
PHOTON estimates that the U.S. will generate more than one terawatt-hour of solar electricity in 2010.
The Alliance to Save Energy threw their support behind Obama's proclamations as well. However, in the midst of developing greener energy systems - which they added should include residential and commercial building retrofitting to increase efficiency while saving tenants money - the Alliance President Kater Callahan added that Obama should try and use the greening of America to add jobs as well.
"With an historic high in construction unemployment and millions of leaky and energy-inefficient existing buildings, now is the time for America to get our own house in order through energy efficiency retrofits that will create many new jobs," she said.
