The four-year-old company was singled out for its creation of the Enphase Microinverter System, the only such system that is available commercially. The system helps to improve the economic model that is currently attached to solar energy use, using microinverters and web-based monitoring to usher in "a new class of solar energy solutions" that are more reliable than older methods.
"We're honored that the Enphase Microinverter System was recognized by Renewable Energy World as a breakthrough technology in energy innovation," said Paul Nahi, president and chief executive officer, Enphase Energy. "The introduction of solar microinverters has redefined the inverter market, and is a game changer for the future of energy management."
Enphase was one of the recipients of an award from Renewable Energy World, which announced its winners at the Renewable Energy World North America Conference & Expo in Austin, Texas on February 23.
Some of the other awards handed out by the magazine included honors for outstanding projects, programs, and technologies relating to wind, geothermal, and solar energy sectors among others.
