SolarEdge named to Fast Company magazine list of Top 10 Innovative Energy Companies

Posted 2 years ago in the Solar Energy category by Nate Lew
Fast Company magazine has selected SolarEdge Technologies, as one of the World's Top 10 Innovative Energy Companies for 2010.

The Distributed Solar Power Harvesting and PV Monitoring Solutions provider was singled out for the innovative ways it can boost photovoltaic solar panel system output through their multi-string solar inverters they call PowerBoxes.

The PowerBoxes, which optimize solar energy modules through unique solar monitoring software, can make solar installations up to 25 percent more efficient than traditional photovoltaic solar installations. In 2009 the company attracted $23 million in funding, including an investment from GE Energy Financial Services and work with partners including BP Solar, Schott Solar and Isofoton.

"We are proud to receive this recognition of our cutting-edge technology and ability to quickly grow our company," said Guy Sella, CEO and founder of SolarEdge. "Over the last year we've seen increasing demand for a way to optimize power harvesting and bypass inherent limitations of traditional [photovoltaic systems] without increasing costs, resulting in a growing number of installer, integrator, manufacturer and system-owner partners."

The Top 10 list was created by the editorial team after analyzing trends and information for all energy companies. The magazine publishes Top 10 Most Innovative Companies lists for 24 separate categories.
