OwnEnergy and Horn Wind complete wind farm construction in Texas

Community developer OwnEnergy announced on Thursday that a wind power project it had partnered with Dallas-based developer Horn Wind to create has been completed.

The project, which was located in the appropriately Dallas suburb of Windthorst, Texas that is located in the ERCOT North Zone, will be capable of generating 51 megawatts of renewable green energy.

"We are pleased to announce the completion of Windthorst-1's development," said Jacob Susman, OwnEnergy's CEO. "This project is a tremendous example of how OwnEnergy's development platform can facilitate community involvement and local entrepreneurship to develop renewable power. We are fortunate to be working with terrific partners on the Project."

Jimmy Horn, the president of Horn Wind, added that the Windthorst project was the first of five wind projects in the ERCOT North Zone that were being managed by the company. Horn Wind serves as a regional developer that manages early stage development of the project before working with other companies in the later stages of construction..

Upon completion of the project, OwnEnergy and Horn Wind both sold their majority stake in the project in order to stress the important of local ownership and job creation for the community that will be possible due to its construction.ADNFCR-2111-ID-19654676-ADNFCR
