The project, which was located in the appropriately Dallas suburb of Windthorst, Texas that is located in the ERCOT North Zone, will be capable of generating 51 megawatts of renewable green energy.

Jimmy Horn, the president of Horn Wind, added that the Windthorst project was the first of five wind projects in the ERCOT North Zone that were being managed by the company. Horn Wind serves as a regional developer that manages early stage development of the project before working with other companies in the later stages of construction..
Upon completion of the project, OwnEnergy and Horn Wind both sold their majority stake in the project in order to stress the important of local ownership and job creation for the community that will be possible due to its construction.
