The installation service will provide help for AC solar energy panels from Andalay that use minimal parts and built-in inverters to produce 25 percent more energy than DC solar panels and reduce the risk of a breakdown.
Solar panels for the system can be bought at separate times and added together by homeowners looking to find the perfect amount of solar energy service for their home.
"Now that homeowners can see Andalay AC solar panels on the shelves at Lowe's, there is even more interest in installing solar for their own homes," said Barry Cinnamon, CEO of Akeena Solar. "Lowe's and Akeena Solar give homeowners the flexibility they need to get reliable solar energy and immediately decrease their electric bills."
Lowe's only recently introduced their Energy Centers at 21 stores across California last December to provide homeowners with a singular location to purchase products and services to help save money on energy use. More centers will likely be opened in other states and in Canada in 2010.
