It's no secret that the state of the news industry is in transition as more people get their information through new technologies, and in keeping with this transition one news organization is adopting solar power to fuel its corporate offices.

Dow Jones & Company has announced it will be constructing a solar power installation at its New Jersey corporate headquarters, which it says will be one of the largest single commercial installations in the country.

While many recognize that solar power has a positive effect on the state of the environment, Dow Jones COO, Stephen Daintith, said the new installation will also have a positive effect on the company's bottom line.

"What makes this investment attractive is that not only are there meaningful environmental benefits but we also will see significant tax incentives and a substantial reduction in our annual energy costs," Daintith said.

According to the news organization, which is owned by parent company News Corp., the installation will eventually consist of more than 13,000 solar panels covering 230,000 square feet of the company's parking facility.

At full capacity, the system is expected to supply 15 percent of the headquarters' power.ADNFCR-2111-ID-19721912-ADNFCR
