SunPower has announced that it will install a new high-efficiency solar energy array at the Dow Jones corporate offices, which are located in central New Jersey.

According to the California solar energy company, the photovoltaic solar array will generate 4.1 megawatts of energy. The system will include 3.6 megawatts of solar panels that will be located above parking spaces, as well as a rooftop installation that will generate 522 kilowatts of electricity.

"Renewable energy is part of a sustainable business plan for Dow Jones," said Dean DelVecchio, the company's chief information officer and chief administrative officer. "With solar energy, Dow Jones is helping the environment and its business at the same time."

SunPower added that it expects the project to be completed early next year and will be one of the largest solar arrays to be in operation at a corporate site. The solar array will provide about 15 percent of the electricity needs for the Dow Jones campus.

The project is being financed in part under the solar loan program offered by Public Service Electric and Gas.
