According to the company, Flextronics, a leading electronics manufacturing services company, will build the SunWave smart energy modules with an eye on developing a larger international presence.

Petra notes that its SunWave system provides more ways for utility companies to manage the power they generate, in a way that is compatible with other existing smart-grid technologies.
The pole-mounted systems are also a useful way for utilities to develop distributed solar energy projects, which can generate large amounts of clean energy while avoiding some of the regulatory issues and higher costs that can come with large-scale projects.
