Yingli announces new supply agreement

Posted 1 year ago in the Solar Business category by Danny Vo
Yingli Green Energy has announced a new supply agreement between its U.S.-based subsidiary and DC Power Systems.

DC Power will be supplying Yingli's solar panels to the U.S. residential market through at least the end of 2010, and the deal is said to be the largest between the two companies so far. The deal could have significant financial potential when considering the substantial growth enjoyed by the residential solar industry in 2009 alone.

"We are pleased to widen our distribution capabilities across the U.S. by aligning with an experienced, reputable partner such as DC Power," said Liansheng Miao, CEO of Yingli Green Energy. "By expanding our reach into fast-growing segments of the North American market we are delivering economically viable solutions for renewable power generation where they are needed the most."

Robert Petrina of Yingli Green Energy Americas added that customers benefit from the deal with DC Power because they also receive financing options, installation training and other things with their purchases.

Worldwide, Yingli reports that it is upgrading two manufacturing facilities in China and expects to bring its total manufacturing capacity to 1 gigawatt by the end of 2010.
