A New Jersey branch of a solar company that grew tired of splitting its time between two bases announced this week that booming business has allowed it to move into a new facility that is significantly larger and a lot more convenient.
Employees of Mercury Solar Systems no longer have to handle warehouse issues in one location and sales issues in the other because both vital company components have been joined under a new facility. The move was a necessary remedy to growing pains considering the company grew 66 percent larger, which isn't surprising in New Jersey, where solar businesses are reporting significant growth.
"We outgrew them," general manager David Sugrue told Shore News Today. "In the last year, we went from an office of 30 to an office of 50."
A large part of why the staff has grown is reflected by the business climate; the customer base has grown as well for the company that is based in New York and has branches in Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania.
"We generate about 30 percent of the total company revenue," Sugrue said, noting residents and businesses like solar so much because of returns on the investment.
