Geoscape Solar recently announced it has completed the installation of it 733-kilowatt solar power system at Atlantic Central Logistics in Elizabeth, New Jersey, which consists of 4,072 solar panels and will allow the company to be powered by 75 percent renewable energy.
“Anyone can see that solar makes sense for business, but what Geoscape Solar brought to the table was the financial package and sophistication to get the job done," said Robert Humes, CEO of ACL.
The construction of the solar system created 35 new jobs in the Elizabeth area, and over the 30-year life of the solar system, it will reduce carbon emissions equal to planting 65,000 trees.
According to Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, his town is dedicated to green energy and creating more green jobs, which has led to Elizabeth being named one of the 50 greenest cities in the United States by Popular Science magazine.
The Philadelphia Inquirer recently reported that Camden County is preparing to borrow up to $49 million for a solar power network that would be one of the largest in the state.
