National Solar Power recently announced it has entered into a developer agreement with Hardee County, Florida, to build a 200-megawatt solar farm in the county, which will create up to 50 permanent jobs and 200 temporary jobs during the five-year construction.

This new $700 million project in the second solar farm created by National Solar Power in Florida. The Hardee County projects consists of 10 200-acre farms that are anticipated to stimulate the economy in the area.

"With its ample property available, easy access to the electric grid and nearby population centers, the Hardee County community is a prime location to put solar energy in the region's power mix," said James Scrivener, CEO of National Solar Power. "We are pleased to be working in partnership with the county and its economic development team in this venture to tap the power of the sun."

According to Renew Grid magazine, Florida will be home to two other new solar projects that will use Solectria photovoltaic inverters. The first project is a 665-kilowatt rooftop array at United Truck Center, and the second project is a 2-megawatt ground-mounted structure at the Murphree Solar Farm.
