Have You Ever Wondered How Much It Costs To Go Solar?

This video will briefly discuss the costs of a solar power system.

So how much does solar cost exactly? Well, there's no easy answer, because it really depends on your electricity usage. Since electricity usage and costs can vary across the country, so will the cost of a solar system. So for an average home in the United States the costs can range from about $10,000-$50,000, and that is not including rebates and incentives. Those can cover about 30-50% of the costs.

The price of a solar power system also depends on the system size or approximately how many panels are needed to provide the desired electricity offset. What is electricity offset? Well let's say you are wanting to reduce half of your electricity bills each month, then you would be looking at a 50% offset.

The installers usually determine the size based on the annual kilowatt usage of the home and they will often request the last 9-12 months of your electricity history. They will also take into account the amount of roof space you have available and compare that with the size of the system that you are looking for.

So just to recap, costs can range from about $10,000 to $50,000, and the only way to know where you fall in that range is to meet with a solar professional in your area.
